Montevideo, December 2020- NIC Trinidad & Tobago joined the LACTLD Anycast Cloud as a client. The number of ccTLDs is now 12.
This way, TTNIC has copies of its zone in the different nodes that make up the network. Thanks to this mechanism, it has immediate recovery instances in the event of an incident or attack, thus improving its robustness and resilience. At the same time, among other benefits, .TT achieves better load management since the network, thanks to its distributed nature, dynamically activates responses to user queries according to the availability of each of the nodes.
The Anycast Cloud is a unique initiative in the world for its regional, collaborative and non-profit nature. Thanks to its operating logic, it makes efficient use of its participants’ infrastructure, it provides geographical and topological diversity and promotes local traffic exchanges.
“We are very happy to be part of LACTLD’s Anycast Cloud. We invite other countries in the region to join it in order to improve performance in terms of response times, security and robustness,” said Patrick Hosein of the .TT
“We welcome TTNIC to LACTLD’s Anycast Cloud. With its addition we reach 13 clients (12 ccTLDs and LACNIC), on the one hand, and the already existing 11 nodes of this regional and collaborative initiative, which brings to the DNS in the region more resilience and security”, commented Miguel Igancio Estrada, LACTLD’s General Manager.
